Connection with Julia Hornsby

Professional and personal development

I have known Julia since 1997 when she was business development manager at Moore Stephens in London, one of Brightside’s first clients. It was Julia whose intelligent oversight, commercial approach and sense of fun encouraged us both to develop teams of directors and partners at the firm to take a creative lead in how they built long term, sustainable and profitable relationships with their clients. This cycle of work lasted for at least three years and was developed further with Moore Stephens Scottish partners at the time, Scott Moncrieff. Working in Edinburgh and Glasgow for a further three years – this became some of the most purposeful and satisfying work I have done and proved a tipping point for how Brightside’s practice grew and developed.

There are golden threads that weave throughout our lives. Julia played her part in Brightside’s story by introducing me to Scott Moncrieff. Her professional life then took a different turn. As I was flying up and down to Scotland, Julia flew on her own adventure to Japan. There she was international business development manager for two top tier law firms, joined the man who is now her husband, married and raised their daughter Olivia.

Julia’s love of people and strong empathy for reading us, complete, in all our strengths as well as our frailties, remains her greatest gift. The fact that she has now undergone rigorous training and is qualified as a business coach makes complete sense and I, in turn, want to be part of her continued success by including Julia on the Brightside Connections page. She has been in the web of relationships in which I have been held and sustained for the last 20 years. I remain grateful for the continuity of our enduring professional and personal relationship and warmly recommend Julia’s coaching skills to you.
