Systemic Family Psychotherapist and Organisational Consultant

Dr Myrna Gower B.A., M.A. CQSW. Qual. in F.T. (Tavistock) is a systemic family psychotherapist and organisational consultant. She acts as a consultant to individuals and teams within businesses, specialising in communication in the work place. She is particularly interested in the psychological contribution to strategising negotiations with clients towards successful deal closure.

Myrna has been working with Brightside since 1999. Over the last 15 years, Georgina and she have designed and implemented successful strategic leadership programmes for partners in professional practices and in the corporate arena. Together they combine their commercial and psychological skills to help clients to become more profitable, whilst living profitable lives.

Myrna has spent her career operating in both the public and private mental health sectors including corporate and professional environments. She has been teaching at post-graduate level since the early 80s at Royal Holloway, University of London where she is an honorary research fellow; The Tavistock Clinic and St George’s Hospital. She Chairs The Association for Family Therapy (AFT) Accreditation Group, accrediting postgraduate systemic training programmes throughout the UK. She continues her work with the AFT registration of practicing clinicians and is involved with ongoing psychological research.

Myrna’s Post-doctoral research interests in the relationship between parents and their adult children continue, as does her work with families where there is a high conflict divorce.
